KM Contractors is experienced in building all kinds of solid and affordable homes, but tends to favor those with strong wood details: real wood siding (board or cedar shake), heavy exposed beam work, and some tongue-and-groove interior wood ceilings and walls. Part of this is natural inclination from a lead contractor whose father, uncles, and great-uncles spent their lives as builders when wood was the resource of choice, and part of this comes from a sense of what’s appropriate in a rustic and waterfront setting. KM knows the longevity of wood, and likes to assure its customers that their investment will still be sturdy and not outdated when it’s passed to their children and grandchildren.
